Includes an 1854 letter and a fifteen-line poem of 1864, both on the theme of landscape painting and the relationship of nature to the Divine. Other letters of Linnell, 1857-1878, mention studies for paintings, sales of his works, and his stormy relationship with the Royal Academy. With three small photographs, annotated by Edwin W. Field, dated 1864; one is of Linnell at work, the other are of two of his miniatures.
